Flüela-Schwarzhorn 3146 m - Aug 2007

In a sunny, hot weekend we headed again to the mountain for some refreshment. This time Dick chose a great destination: the 3147 m high Flüela-Schwarzhorn in Graubünden. Whether this choice was due to the visit of a bear nearby recently or to its glamour, it is still a secret for me, but definetaly it was a good choice. Apart from the night when I woke up wondering whether there is a bear outside murmuring or I was just dreaming of??? (it was just Dick burping (ed.)) By the Swiss Public transport (train, bus) we arrived in Flüela pass (Flüela Hospiz - 2383m), the highest pass in CH by car where we had the first energy consumption and looked at our destination ahead.
Looking down from the top (our first 3000er which we ever climbed so far - an ideal hiking for family too) we spotted our accommodation place: the turquoise-blue little pond just under the glacier (or used-to-be glacier) .Our tent just at the feet of Flüela-Schwarzhorn and next to the spotted glacier pond. Just before dinner Dick dared to dip into the icy water...(I belived it was COLD, but to be honest I had to try it by myself too..)
And indeed he went .... Our evening bath in the most spectacular tub... And the delicious dinner: boerenkool hutspot (Dutch food :-)) with the red spon-fork-knife I've got from Dick's parents...
Then the pond at sunset Before sleeping : here we were just joking about the bear....
Dick is in action.... "Szilvia, I've found our next camping site...." Dick's remark when we passed the Fuorcla Radönt (2788m) to walk back to the Flüela Pass along Val Grialetsch (where the bear was seen a week ago)
